Snapshot are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Developer/Shared
Remove the disk image and it should fix the issue.
I'm not sure anyone actually uses snapshot.
Anyone who cares about source history (and everybody should) already use a source code manager (subversion, git, ...) that provides superior capabilities.
