I tried TextWrangler, open both files, touch and save with line
endings set to CRLF ... it didn't owrk either.
So, I saved both files from Xcode, was able to diff as they had same
line endings, but what they were I have no idea.
Anyway, thanks to all!

You can try using TextWrangler to compare the files, I've had
success with that.
The problem then passes to the VS side, where you end up checking in
files with Mac line endings and the diff in VS will report that the
whole file has changed.

Out of curiosity any particular reason to use 3.1.2? We're up to
3.2.5 now :).
Haven't gotten around to it.
Is there something else to be done to get CRLF line endings?
Is this for a new file or an existing file? If it is for an
existing file, the default is to preserve line endings in the
file. Also how are you verifying your line endings (some methods
may be translating without asking you).
Text editing prefs let me specify line endings for new files and
for existing files. Both of these I set CRLF.
Using File Merge to compare a file from Windows Visual Studio to a
similiar file in Xcode tells me the line endings for the Xcode file
are LF and the VS file line endings are CRLF. So I cannot diff the
files.
So, again, how does one make Xcode honor the line ending prefs?
