Hi,
we found that when we just build an iOS app, our enterprise provsioning profile is automatically being embedded into the app (since Xcode 3.2).
In our opinion, this is somewhat of a security issue, since anybody with access to the ipa can install & use the application.
Is this the expected behavior? I'd have assumed that using the "Share..." option in the Organizer was the way to associate the prov. profile with the app (either by embedding, by sending both via e-mail, etc.)...
Wasn't the idea behind provisioning profiles also to control usage of the application?
If a company is e.g. using MDM to manage the devices, they're not dependent on the profile being embedded into the app - in fact, they'd probably rather not have this and control access to the application via manual installation of the provisioning profiles...
Or are we just missing an option in the build settings to not embed the prov. profile into the app?
Thanks,
</jum>
