In the info window for the Copy Files build phase (which you get when you add the build phase, or otherwise using double-click or Files > Get Info) you can choose which destination subfolder to copy the files (bundles) to, in your case that should be Plugins. The folder will then be automatically created, at least when you add stuff to the build phase. There's really nothing more you need to do.

Thanks for the rapid reply. This is precisely what I have been doing and have just repeated to be absolutely sure. The folder does not get created.
I do Project->New Build Phase->New Copy Files Build Phase
then choose Destination->Plugins and type in the path to the PluginPart.plugin which is located in my PluginPart project folder's build/Debug/ folder i.e.
/Users/............../PluginPartProjectFolder/build/Debug/PluginPart.plugin

As far as I can see then I am doing everything I've been told to without getting the desired result. Hmmmm.
One observation: when I expand the other build folders I get to see that they contain various files, e.g Copy Bundle Resource contains InfoPlist.strings but when I expand the Copy Files folder there is nothing in it.
