Installer hangs - and solution

I thought I should document this on the list to possibly save someone else the trouble I had. (Maybe you all know this already. :-))

The installer for the 4.1 tools hung on me with the following message in the Console:

2010/09/14 4:30:42 PM Installer[79299] *** -[NSMachPort handlePortMessage:]: dropping incoming DO message because the connection or ports are invalid

It turns out I had inadvertently left the iPhone Simulator from the previous version of the tools running during the install procedure. Quitting it and restarting the installer led to a quick and successful install.

Hope this helps someone in the future.
