Actually, could anyone point me to some documentation about what the various predefined options mean? I can only find NATIVE_ARCH, but searching for any of the others (that include STANDARD) gives me nothing. Moreover, if the interpretation depends on just what tools you're using, I'd say it's rather useless, settings should be independent of tools.
