I am using Xcode 4.0.1. I got the build/run cycle to work by removing the old targets and creating new ones. The targets inherited from Xcode 3 seem to be different. The new external build targets behave correctly.

I use Xcode for all my projects as I find Eclipse to be unacceptable for development. I prefer using a common IDE for all my projects even those using Java and WebObjects. I have tried Eclipse several times and simply can't stand it. It always seems to get in my way.

One thing I really miss in the new Xcode 4 is the scriptability that Xcode 3 offered. I had some convenient scripts that I can no longer use in Xcode 4.
