No status bar at bottom of project window

I have a 3.2.5 project that when opening was displaying an error whne double-clicked and would only open if Xcode was running and it was opened from the recent menu. That behavior has 'gone away' so I cannot rely the error that was displayed.

Now, the project will open when double-clicked but there is no status bar at the bottom of the window.

Is this familiar to anyone and how can I correct the project file?
