using xcode editor with git - won't release 'wait'

  • Subject: using xcode editor with git - won't release 'wait'

Hi,

I'm using xcode as my editor while using git-controlled projects from
the shell. I have it set as the editor in git, and it's invoked like so
from git: 'xed --wait'. git would open e.g. a commit message in xcode
and when I closed it, git would continue on doing its thing, as
expected.

I just switched from xcode 2.x to 3.2.5 and now xcode is only releasing
the 'wait' loop called from xed when *all* files in xcode are closed,
even if they were opened earlier via xed without the '--wait' option. In
2.x, I only had to close the one file opened with 'xed --wait' for the
wait loop to end.

Is this a new feature? If so, what's the goal? Or is it a bug? Thanks.

Cheers,
Michael
