Done that, tried manually creating the path, double checked permissions.  The fact is that only I among my team mates can use the XCode project file I've created - otherwise we get this error.  On attempting a make clean - they get a strange reference to recursive expansion of an Adobe product folder in the /Applications folder which I totally don't understand.  There is no reference to this folder anywhere in the project.
