I'd like to disable the entire source code management (scm) feature that
causes XCode act as a subversion client (connecting to my svn
server/authenticating/managing svn transactions). I manage svn on the
shell and even if my method is primitive it's for me to decide not XCode
to impose. So in my case, I don't want the IDE to manage svn even though
it may be a great feature for others.
The annoying part is that XCode doesn't allow me to "easily" disable scm
and furthermore it deliberately resets itself, configuring and enabling
scm every time I reopen my project even though I just deleted the
repository in Organizer.
So is there a config file somewhere that I can edit and can you please
explain how I would do that? Ideally I'd be able to pick and choose as
to which projects use scm.

How do you mean "turn off?" Do you want to stop displaying source-control status, or do you want to take your working directory out of control? What _exactly_ is your annoyance?
