I was wondering... can I delete the Xcode4 installer (Install Xcode, 4.58 GB) in the Applications folder?
Would that mess with the AppStore?

I didn't pick my version of Xcode from the MAS, but if you are talking about a .dmg file or another installer package, a good idea might be to move it from your computer and see what happens.

In fact, App Store.app recognizes installed apps by watching the CFBundleIdentifier thing in apps' Info.plist files.

PS: A wise Red Indian woman once said to her son: "You don't need to keep your umbilical cord, I know you're my son." ;-)
