If you're just getting started with Xcode 4, that is the recipe for a lot of things that get stuck. Even Apple engineers have replied to threads on the developer forums asking whether problem <fill-in-the-blank> goes away after closing and reopening Xcode. Assuredly they're working these kinks out.
