I'm not sure I understand why this is excellent. I had absolutely no problem with IB as a separate tool, and frankly, preferred it that way.

Better would have been to integrate the clang/LLVM compiler, so as to not require writing as many files to disk, or invoking as many processes to build. CodeWarrior worked this way, and was blindingly faster than Xcode is on machines with orders of magnitude more compute and I/O power.
