This is a FAQ (because it's a serious difficulty - Apple makes backwards compatibility hard). Probably better to check the archives rather than rehashing it again; heaven knows there's enough in there about it... m.

I cannot seem to locate one...

Searching for 'checking for new api' doesn't turn up any results, for example.
