CVS has been essentially dead for 10 years. Yes, I know there are still people using it. There are still people using VAXes too. It should come as no surprise to any CVS user that they would get dropped at some point. In fact, the surprise should have been it took this long.


I'm sure Perforce was simply a numbers decision - they didn't see the numbers of users necessary to justify keeping the Perforce support.

In my mind, Apple is making a perfectly understandable decision by supporting the two most popular SCM's out there: svn and git.
