Symbol Navigator?

Hello,

I have a question regarding the new symbol navigator in Xcode 4: It only lists symbols of files in the "Classes" directory. I have a shared source directory that is part of the project but resides somewhere else on my hard drive. The files show up in the project navigator but its symbols are not listed in the symbol navigator.
What's going wrong?
