Instruments isn't quite there yet... especially in the cache miss department.

Definitely true... and I know I do have a copy of it around here
somewhere... but we often just get XCode updates through the software
updater on OSX.... which brings me to my next point:
I have fixed the problem! It seems that using Software Update to
update from 3.2.5 to 3.2.6 hosed up Shark. I downloaded the full
3.2.6 DMG yesterday an reinstalled it over my current installation
then gave it a reboot for good measure and.... Presto! Shark is
working!
Still don't know exactly what was wrong but it is fixed now. So if
anyone else runs into this you might try that yourself.
