Issues with Issues In Xcode 4

If I compile (Product->Build) my project in Xcode 4.02, the activity viewer and the issues navigator say "no issues".
If I analyze (Product->Analyze) my project in Xcode 4.02, the activity viewer and the issues navigator say "no issues".
If I click a source file icon in the project navigator, after a second or so, the activity viewer and the issues navigator show several warnings and an error.
Why does it show issues if I click a source file icon but not when I build? It is acting like clicking a source file icon causes an analyze with stricter settings than my build settings? But I could find nothing about this in the Xcode 4 documentation.
