[XCode 4] Activity Viewer and Run Script Phase Progress

Hi,
I have a lengthy Run Script phase that process many files. Would there be a way to make that script output some information that XCode 4 would then pick to display the progress in the activity viewer that sits in the toolbar? As XCode 4 does when building a project e.g. I know I am probably day dreaming here but it costs nothing to ask!
