I spent a fair bit of time a few weeks ago searching for info on
building gcc 4.6 in a Mac-friendly way, but didn't find much. clang is
indeed great, but gcc 4.6 has many things going for it too. It would be
nice to have both. If you're able to build/install gcc 4.6, you might
be able to modify this to use it within Xcode:
