An Xcode document contains links to many files which could be scattered anywhere on the user's disk. The user expects to be able to read and write those files by saving the document, not by saving the individual files. How can such an app exist in a sandbox?

Well, one of the question my original message had was whether a user can choose a folder with the open panel and whether an app presenting such open panel would gain access to the folder and its content. Anyone knows? It doesn't seem to say in the doc.
As for the doc reference on entitlements, is it this document?
