You can and *should* delete the contents of DerivedData (with Xcode not running, of course). Not only does this save space on your computer, it also causes your projects to be re-indexed when you open them and thus can solve many, many mysterious misbehaviors, ranging from code completion not working to an inability to build for distribution. m.
