How do I create a project template?

Is there any documentation on how to create Xcode project templates, or a tool that will turn an existing project into a template?

I’ve looked at the existing ones in /Developer/Library/Xcode/Templates/Project Templates/, but the structure of the TemplateInfo.plist file looks somewhat complex and I don’t think I have the time to reverse-engineer it.
