Would you expect to see a warning about things that aren't supported in the deployment target OS?

Our project's deployment target is iOS 4.3.  It compiles fine, no warnings.  Runs great on 5.x.

Come to find out it's crashing on 4.3 because of an iCloud call.  Of course we knew that iCloud doesn't exist in 4.x.

My question is: What is the point of setting the deployment target, if there's no feedback that results from it?

Thanks for any insight.
