I added a couple more Shell Script Build Phases, to simply log (echo) the stat of the framework before and after the Copy Frameworks Build Phase which was reporting that it was missing. These echoes magically fixed the problem, and it remains fixed after removing them.
I still notice the weirdness of the framework being built on *alternate* builds, though…
• Delete Sparkle.framework from products directory.
• Build. Sparkle.framework reappears.
• Build again, nothing happens.
• Build again, Sparkle.framework gets new Created, Modified, Accessed dates.
• Build again, nothing happens.
• Build again, Sparkle.framework gets new Created, Modified, Accessed dates.
…
and I'm sure that will bite back hard someday if I don't fix it. Envision behavior which changes on alternate test runs depending on whether or not a framework is rebuilt – Make my day!
