it appears that 4.4.1 fixes this issue, thanks a lot!
It sure would be very helpful if release notes on would be posted somewhere.

You have 2 workarounds for now
- twist open 'self'
- temporarily use gdb.

is it just me or is the 4.4 debugger no longer showing instance variables when using the "Auto" setting? Is there a setting to turn it on? In 4.3.3 it worked perfectly fine.
