"bad codegen, pointer diff" link error

  • Subject: "bad codegen, pointer diff" link error

When I try to link a framework using a Boost.system static library using Xcode 4.4.1, I get an error like this:

ld: bad codegen, pointer diff in __ZN5boost6system12system_errorD2Ev to global weak symbol __ZTVN5boost6system12system_errorE for architecture i386 clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)

This is in a project that builds fine with Xcode 3.2.6. Can anyone give me a clue what this is about?
