Hi all,
I'm utterly confused with the myriad of certificates that are involved with doing development between Mac and iOS and I want to make sure i'm doing this in the easiest way possible.
I have a suite of applications that are distributed (OUTSIDE of the App Store) as part of a product that I work on. I want to sign them so that Gatekeeper on Mountain Lion will allow users to install our apps without an issue.
One other detail is that I work with a team so there are several developers...any of them need to be able to create and publish a new build.
So my questions are:
1) What certificate(s) do I need to have to sign my app for this purpose? I believe the answer is a "Developer ID Application" certificate. Is this correct?
2) Does each product in the suite need a different certificate or do i merely sign them all with the same certificate?
3) Do i have to redistribute the public/private key to each of the other developers in the team or is there a more appropriate way of letting others sign?
Thanks,
Chris
