Does anyone know if there is a way to make Xcode search for text in xib files?  The "Search Navigator" (⌘3), which seems to be the same as "Find in Workspace" (⌘⇧F) doesn't do it for me.

BBEdit's Multi-File Search feature comes to rescue as usual, but it's not convenient.

Any reason why I should not file a bug?  I often want to search xibs to find required bindings or resource names.

By all means file a bug, but there's slightly sneaky way of doing it in Xcode. Change your editor view to a version editor split, then xib (and project) files are displayed in text and are searchable using the Find bar at the top of the tab.
