I'm currently using Xcode 4.2 on my Snow Leopard installation (4C199).

I recently booted to Lion to build on to an iOS 5.1.1 device using Xcode 4.5

Booting back to Snow Leopard, Xcode 4.2 reports that that the storyboards in the can not be opened. "Could not read archive."

3 of my projects are hosed now because of this.

Does anyone know why Xcode 4.5 would not create backwards compatible storyboards with 4.2? Is there a compatibility mode somewhere?

This is seriously distressing. There was no warning at all that this would happen.
