Fortran and Xcode

  • Subject: Fortran and Xcode

I need to work on some legacy Fortran code on my Mac. I know about Macports, and I know where to find prebuilt versions of late GNU Fortrans for the Mac. I am running MacOS 10.6.8 with Xcode 3.2.6. Is there any cause to worry that an install of a new compiler will in some way mess up the command-line tools that I installed as part of the Xcode installation? If so, is there any advice for minimizing problems?

Thanks.
