What you will see is not API. There is no guarantee that the elements will do (or do safely) what they appear to, nor that they will do (or do safely) the same things in a future release, nor that they will work (or work safely) if they are not coordinated with other settings, nor that they will work (or work safely) over the full apparent range of their values.
If you don't like instability now, you won't like it any better afterwards.
