XCode on the App Store

  • Subject: XCode on the App Store

I thought this "putting Xcode onto the App Store" was supposed to simplify things, but I definitely haven't seen any benefit.

When I log on to the App Store, I see that Xcode has an update pending.

When I press the button, it displays an alert saying "You have updates available for other accounts. To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it".

Sorry, I have exactly *one* Apple account and that's what I used - I bought in to the whole "use your Apple ID for everything".

So, how do I resolve this?

It's no longer available to download directly from developer.apple.com, a system that *never* caused me this sort of grief. I can't see what account they think I bought it with, I can't even see a button that says "l don't give a crap about that other account, I want to buy it again (it's free after all)".
