When I select "Open with External Editor" in Xcode 4.3.3's contextual
menu, it opens the file in TextEdit. I can't find any way to
configure this. Surely there should be some way to make it open a
file in BBEdit or whatever?

"Open with External Editor" uses the Launch Services bindings; so, if
you use "Get Info" in the Finder to tell it to open a given file in
BBEdit, and then click the "Change All" button to change the binding for
all files of that type, then "Open with External Editor" should do the
right thing thereafter.

Thanks!
