Xcode appears to implement something akin to filters for use with build settings. The best-known example is "rfc1034identifier" used as "${PRODUCT_NAME:rfc1034identifier}" in the Info.plist generated for Cocoa projects, but I have seen others mentioned on the Internet:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5173472/xcode-info-plist-build-variable-product-namerfc1034identifier-seems-complete
My questions are:
a) Are these filters documented anywhere?
b) Does a filter exist to remove a suffix from a string?
c) If not, is it possible to write custom filters?
I suspect the answer to all three questions will be "no" but thought it would be worth asking.
What we're trying to do is strip the trailing ".0" from version numbers as this would allow us to only maintain one version number for CFBundleVersion and automatically generate CFBundleVersionShort from that.
Thanks,
Simon
