Adding Buttons without Unembedding

I have a button in a box in a split view.
Now I want to add another button next to it.
One way:
Unembed the split view
Unembed the box (carefully remember all existing parameters)
Add the new button
Embed buttons into box (and set all the box parameters again)
Embed box in split view
Is there a simpler way?
