I don't think that just clicking on a setting is good enough.

Have you done this already?

Press command 1
Select your project in the Navigator pane
Go to the Edit menu, then select Refactor: Convert to Objective-C ARC…

Then proceed through the dialogs.

If any of the dialogs show changes, then you'll have to go through and let Xcode apply the changes to your code.
