XCode 4.5 from MacApp Store Not Intalling

I've tried twice now to update XCode to 4.5 through the Mac App Store,
on my 10.7 Macbook Pro. It updated fine to 4.5 another, new MBP with
10.8.2. However, on the 10.7 machine, it would go all the way through,
downloading for about 30 minutes, then "Installing"... then would go
back to downloading again! Is there some problem out there? I gave up
on the App store and am downloading it directly from the Developers
site now, hopefully that'll work. And if I do update directly from the
Developer download, will it now not update through the Mac App Store?
