When I test my app in Xcode, running in 10.8, stderr from the Helper Tool does not show up in the system Console.
I'm confused by the above. Usually when you run stuff from Xcode, the output goes to Xcode's console, not the system console. Which were you doing/expecting?
Prior to Mountain Lion, when you run an app from the Finder or the like, its output would go to the console. Apparently, Apple changed that with Mountain Lion and app output just goes to the bitbucket unless redirected explicitly.
