Xcode does not do that. The fact that you think it does indicates that you've misunderstood something pretty badly (my guess would be what Interface Builder actually does, but that's just a guess). I'd suggest continuing with the tutorials, while also taking a side-trip to read Apple's docs on Objective-C++.
