One of my .xib files has a problem. When I try to save it, it crashes Xcode with a SIGABRT. An excerpt from the crash dialog follows:

> ASSERTION FAILURE in /SourceCache/IDEInterfaceBuilder/IDEInterfaceBuilder-4514/Framework/Document/IBObjectContainer.m:524
> Details: Can't get the OID of an object not in the document!
> Object: <IBObjectContainer: 0x7f8b7fb58eb0>
> Method: -objectIDForObject:

The xib has no trouble being part of the build. I’ve thrown away my local copy and gotten a fresh one from our git repository, but it shows the same problem.

How can I fix this, short of completely recreating the entire xib file? It’s complex and pretty important, and I’d hate to spend a few days fixing the inevitable bugs that would crop up from a do-over.
