Why worry or assume? Read the source code....
If I could add it to my project I might well do that! lol
Yeah, abandoned RestKit

Xcode 4.6, AFNetwork, drag and drop install like any source. Zero

Excellent, does what we need.
Suggest problem is not with Xcode.... and at least not with
AFNetwork..... something higher level perhaps, I'm not familiar
with RestKit.

Hi,
In general I've found that anything this difficult to just add to
a project is probably not worth adding in the first place. I mean
if the developers were so lazy/incompetent that that couldn't be
bothered to write decent up to date instructions on how to install
it then what chance does the code itself have? I'm worried now
that the underlying code is a complete mess like so many of the
other projects on GitHub.
In this case, it could be XCode 4.6 that is causing the issues,
but since that's the IDE I *have* to use, it really doesn't matter.
Also since no one has replied and there is little or nothing about
RestKit on the Net, I'd say most other developers have come to the
conclusion that it's not worth the trouble to include.
Can anyone recommend a (Good - one that it is actually possible to
include in your project!) Third Party Network Manager type library?
All the Best

Dave,
You might want to have a look at CocoaPods (http://
cocoapods.org/). It's a friendlier way of managing external deps
than git submodules, and has 'pods' (its reuse specification
format) available for both AFNetworking and RestKit.
I've only just started using it for my latest project still in
its early stages, so may not have hit major gotchas yet, but it's
been very nice to use so far.
Cheers,
CB.

Hi All,
Has anyone managed to successfully add RestKit and AFNetworking
as part of it) with XCode 4.6.
I've pulled the Sub Module from github and following the
installation instructions but I just can't get it it build
properly. The instructions on github are out of date by the
looks of things and I'm at a loss as it know what to tweak. I
really can't understand it's so difficult to add something like
this in XCode 4, ever since they "upgraded" it, I've had nothing
by problems.
The documentation and examples for RestKit looked really good,
but now I've had these problems I'm wondering if it's worth the
effort. I've found in the past that generally if something takes
more than 10 minutes to add to your existing project then the
underlying product itself is likely to be flakey too. Since
usually the same developers that write the code also do the
installation setup and documentation.
The is here, I'm not sure if it's not just XCode playing up?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dave
