In addition to the tools mentioned by Fritz Anderson, since migrating from Xcode 3, I've find myself using *Open Quickly* more often than not.  Typing ⌘⇧O, and the first few characters of the file name, is usually quicker than mousing around with the jump bar.  Also, quite unlike the maddening ◀ ► buttons in the jump bar, which have an uncanny ability for pruning off the location that I want, *Open Quickly* is quite smart about guessing what I want, and quickly moves it to the top of the list.
