Tips on migrating pre Xcode 3.1.3 projects to Xcode 4.6

I'm looking at one of Jens' and Peter Bakhyryev's projects, Chatty, and it was originally written for iOS 2.x.

(Nice tutorial, BTW)

When opening the project in Xcode 4.6, the target appears as a Mac OS app, not an iOS app.

I could first update the app to Xcode 3.1.3, then to 4.6 but my Mac with that install is in storage. Is there any set of guidelines available for updating older projects to 4.6?

Thanks much.
