Having just been on holiday in a place where I could get a big download for free and relatively fast internet speeds, I downloaded Xcode 5.1. As soon as I get back to slow, expensive internet, 5.1.1 is released. If I update it in the App Store, how big will the download be? If it's going to be another two gigabytes, I'll have to wait. If it's much smaller, that's possibly manageable. Is there any way to tell how big the download will be before you start to download it? Or is there a way to start and then abort a download in the App Store?
Thanks to those who replied privately. The delta update in the App Store is manageable (139 MB from here), so I'm downloading it now.
I’ve downloading via the App Store, but I get 2.18 GB download and it takes 40+ mins! How do I get the delta update? I assumed it would happen automagically?
It should. I think that it's a matter of having the previous download in
the App Store. If you skipped one, you have to get the full download. It
would be nice to know before you click. I feel a trip to the bug
reporter coming on...
2.18 GB here would take more like 40 hours and cost more than $100,
which is why I didn't want to do it.
