Optimization Profile File

  • Subject: Optimization Profile File

My app stopped building yesterday. It was not long after I did some checking of things booted into another version of the OS.

The error I get is:

error: Could not read profile: No such file or directory

This happens when compiling main.m. The only reference I can see to a profile in the command that fails is to ..../<app name>.profdata. The Optimization Profile File in build settings is set to the default, $(SRCROOT)/OptimizationProfiles/$(PROJECT_NAME).profdata. I don't see anything at the path that refers to.

I can get the project to build fine if I delete the Optimization Profile File value for the release build.

I guess my question is, apart from what might have caused the problem and how to fix it, what is an Optimization Profile File?
