Should the Simulator talk?

  • Subject: Should the Simulator talk?

I have an app which talks happily on the device, but the Simulator (8.0 beta 4) just says: "Speech initialization error: 2147483665" which is 0x80000011, whatever that means.

It does speechSynthesizer.speakUtterance( utterance ) (from AVSpeechSynthesizer), but before the delegate can receive willSpeakRangeOfSpeechString the error is printed and all remains quiet.

Is this a bug, or are Simulators not supposed to talk?

Gerriet.
