There is a setting in Xcode to analyze and display all errors in the background, that building necessarily wouldn’t show. 

I definitely get intermittent glitches in Xcode where it will start reporting errors (usually it looks as though headers are being imported multiple times, or else that it can’t find headers), which then go away after I clean the build or nuke the derived-data folder entirely.

It actually seems worse in Xcode 6 than in 5 or 4.
