... Swift seems to emphasize a 'compact' syntax just a bit too much. Looking at some constructs it feels that I would have to double the lines of comments in my code if I want to understand what's going on a few month later.
I *like* the longwindedness of Objective-C. I can read most of my code almost like a book. I don't get the same feeling by looking at Swift code. Maybe that's just a matter of familiarity. But I somehow doubt it.
Oh, and just because I get the feeling that I'm coming over as rather negative - I was actually pretty excited when Swift was announced. And I did like what I saw when reading the book. I was just mightily disappointed when just what I think are the most distinguishing features of Objective-C did never show up. *sad panda*
